8 months Post-op VSG Today ~ 61 Pounds Lost Total So Far!

I lost one pound this week.  My weightloss has slowed down, but one pound is better than gaining one. : )  My measurements are the same.  It's 34 weeks, but I had my VSG surgery on May 29, 2015.  Today is my 8 month anniversary.

I found some old photos unpacking last night. Here is Doug Wendt and I in our 10 piece funk band "Soul Attraction" at a gig in SF - my mom took this photo. Great Memories!  What's totally sad is I thought I was fat back then.  So, THIS is what I look like when I'm thin!

Doug and I met when I auditioned for a blues band in 1992. Then we were in Soul Attraction for 5 years and then he and I started Dangerous Martini together back in 1999.  The music project came to a close in 2013.  This photo gives me great motivation!

It will feel good to be back to my old self again in my skin.

Sexy songs in my heart....

I'm still in a weight loss stall, at 223 lbs. but I feel smaller.  I have lost another inch measurement wise. I did just move up a long tall flight of stairs. That is a work out indeed!

My weight loss is slowing down, but I expected this.  It's going to take as long as it's gonna take to get to my goal weight of 145lbs. I'm half way to my goal.  It's been 33 weeks since my VSG surgery, and I feel great, but I sure want to get into the 100's on the scale. THAT WILL BE A HAPPY DAY WHEN I GET THERE.   I start my membership at the new gym today.  I get a free session with a personal trainer to start, that should help.

I am working on a new Jazz music project.  My old band was called DANGEROUS MARTINI.  I played the role of Femme Fatale Torch Singer.  In my new project, I portray something as classic yet, surprising in artistic expression.  My sound  is a sultry female Tom Waits, Dorothy Parker, Robbie Robertson meets Peggy Lee vibe that looks somewhere in between a James Bond Girl & one of the the Mad Men ladies ...still dangerous - but in a Libra Rising, Scorpio in Venus in the first house kind of way. : )

I have this vision of me singing jazz on stage this year...
...wearing a long sexy form fitting black dress and feeling beautiful.

VSG Motivation 2016!

I finally unpacked everything and I found my scale.  I got on it this morning and I weighed 223lbs.  It looks like I gained a couple, but when I measured myself, I lost 2 more inches everywhere, so that helps.  I do feel smaller in my clothes.  The smaller stuff I bought that was tight on me fits perfectly now.  In time these same items will be too big on me. : )

40 inches lost total so far!

I realize I am still in the honeymoon phase of this VSG Post-op adventure.  I need to take advantage of this now.  I joined our company gym here at work and am coming into work a little earlier so I can get over to the gym before the rush weekdays.  I need to get into a new routine that is consisitant overtime.  I know this is the best way to tone up, reduce body fat and get to my goal weight of 145lbs. this year.

To get some motivation, I made myself a poster of some quotes that get me juiced and that inspire me...
Right click on this and save it to your computer if you want it for yourselves... : )

No changes still at 221 lbs.

I have relocated my homestead... busy unpacking, cleaning and organizing.  I have to still unpack my scale!  : )  I am getting rid of stuff.  This year I am lightening my load in many ways.  I am seeking to become more paperless and a minimalist.  Uncluttered my world.

My new closet is a nice size, Yay!  No changes, still in a stall.  I will measure myself next week and give a report.  I love my new place!  There is room in the garage for a treadmill, but until I find a reasonable one, I have joined the gym at my place of work.  They have EVERYTHING THERE!  They have all kinds of classes too.  I have never tried Zumba or Power Pilates before, so I am going to give these a whirl.  I know me, if it's fun, I'll keep doing it.

It's time to get on the hamster wheel and get to my goal of 145 lbs.  My next mini goal 199 lbs. To break the 200's and get into the 100's on the scale!

New treadmill and smaller ass coming soon!

A Very Happy New Year!

I got on the scale this morning and am at 221 lbs.  I gained a pound over the holidays.  I did eat some cookies and drank some Egg Nog.  I did have a totally fantastic birthday. Usually I do a big Crab Feed on my birthday every year, but this year Dungeness Crab Season was A BUST here in the San Francisco Bay area.  So I did a BIG Prime Rib Feast instead.  I smoked 1 full rack of Prime Rib and slow roasted another one in the oven.  I had a big birthday party for Doc Scott, my Sagittarius bro and myself.

For the past few years, I have been making fun crab horror movies with my friends on my birthday, so I made sure we made the most of the 2015 Crab Season.  Here is this years movie just completed:

I had a lovely Christmas, saw my family and it was very happy, sad, weird and emotional.  I did do some emotional eating and drinking.  New Years Eve was awesome (FYI: I drank Champagne without tummy troubles : o ) and today, I'M MOVING out of Pacifica, CA to a great big house closer to where I work in South San Francisco, CA.  I just picked up the keys today.  So I am getting my workout BIG TIME packing and moving this weekend.

I work in Biotech in the Biotech Bay.  I would love to live in San Francisco, but the rent prices are higher than ever before in history.  So I chose to share a big house with some young, fun ladies.  1 is a nannny, 1 is a flight attendant at SFO, 2 work at my same company.  I will be able to save some money, set-up a Treadmill to use daily in the garage and park my Classic Restored 1973 T2 VW Camper Bus there without it turning into a rust bucket by the sea.  It is a new year with bright new beginnings.

Once I get settled into my new digs, I will post this years Glamp-O-Rama event schedule for 2016.  Many adventures ahead! I hope to meet some new fun people this year!  STAY TUNED!

My next weight loss goal is to get to 199 lbs. ~ out of the 200's and into the 100's on the scale. (Technically - 181lbs. is a limestone goal for me because that will be a loss of 100 pounds.)  I will get to my goal weight of 145 lbs., hopefully around this time next year.  It will take as long as it takes, but I will get there.

I HOPE YOU HAD A
FABULOUS HOLIDAY SEASON
AND WISH YOU A
TOTALLY EXCELLENT NEW YEAR!

Happy Yuletide Celebrations to Everyone!

Nothing has changed.
I'm still at 220 lbs.

I am not depriving myself of anything.  I don't really eat them, I just taste things. I have not worked out or walked much these past couple weeks.  It's time to get a good brisk walk in!

I wish you a wonderful holiday season!

28 Weeks VSG Post-Op 61 lbs & 39 inches Lost so far!

I honestly can't believe it but I lost another pound as of this morning!  I ate all kinds of stuff over my big birthday weekend and drank eggnog, ate cake, and indulged a bit.  I thought for sure I would gain weight.  BUT NO!  I lost one more pound and lost another inch total.  I didn't eat a lot, but I tasted a little bit of everything.  I do have to say, I feel better when I eat protein first.  If I don't, I feel that empty hunger feeling, but nothing like I used too - they removed my Ghrelin "Hunger hormone" in the VSG surgery, it is certainly not the same.  I eat mostly, eggs, meat, soups and salads.

220 lbs.  61 pound and 39 inches lost so far!

VSG and the holidays are easy right now because I'm still in the honeymoon phase.  Come 2016, I need to really focus on getting down to my goal weight of 145 lbs.  It may take me a year or so, but I am okay with that.  The most important part is my heart arrhythmia has gone away, I have normal blood pressure for the first time in 20 years and I no longer have sleep apnea.

I have more energy, feel younger and can do a lot more active fun things without the pain I used to experience everyday.  I still have some back, knee and joint pain, but it doesn't stop me from going out like it once did.  The quality of my life is much better overall.  I am only half way to my goal weight.  I am sure once I get small, I will be feeling much better.

I will be stepping up my work-outs to get toned and getting a sexy hunky personal trainer to show me the basics and getting my own treadmill will be something I am adding to my weekly and daily routine come 2016.

IT'S ALL ABOUT STAYING MOTIVATED!
