Bulletproof Coffee Review & Bio-whacking...

Finally the scale is moving down again.  I lost one more pound this week.  I think this intermittent fasting is making the difference.  I have been drinking Bulletproof Coffee in the mornings and I really like it.  I also have been reading Dave Asprey's book The Bulletproof Diet.  It has been very interesting.

How to make Bulletproof Coffee:

I'll say this:  His information and research are impressive.  The book is a wealth of knowledge and his writing style and personal story are inspirational and helpful.  I went and pulled up his Youtube Channel and began to watch him do a lecture and learned, PUBLIC SPEAKING AIN'T HIS BAG.  He thinks he is really smart and successful and wants to make sure you all know, over and over.

He sort of reminds me of a man who was a sickly kid who must had been allergic to everything and probably was beat up a lot.  He is handsome and self made, but his ego still needs some maturing.  It's as if he still trying too hard to be accepted.  Maybe he has not completely learned to love himself yet.  It really comes through when he expresses himself on camera.  If you can get passed that part, his videos have great information.

He has kind of a sexy Scorpio edge to him, which is appealing, but he comes off as emotionally saying, "I'll never be good enough", so his message is incongruent.  It's like you want to get the guy stinking drunk, make him cum hard a few times, and just hold him and let him cry for a long time so he can get it all out of his system.  That's my version of Bio-hacking, technically that should be called, Bio-whacking. : o

I can't imagine how scary it would be to find out that literally parts of your brain were no longer working.  I love that he found ways to biologically get it functioning again.  We really can heal ourselves with our diet and other things.

I read that he once used "Teaching Plants".  I was very impressed by this.  I hope he continues using them along his path.  I hope he finds healing from whatever must have happened to him in his past.  I find it is mandatory to at least once a year, "Hard Boot" your system at a sacred Ayahuasca ceremony.  It purges the shit and 'Bullshit beliefs' right out of you, gives you a fresh beginning and a cleaner soul to the Truth of who you are.

His information however is priceless and the research and work he has put into his book is well worth the cover price.  I do have to say, his coffee kicks ass.

When drinking Bulletproof Coffee, I found immediately that my gut feels calm when drinking butter, MCT oil (Or his XCT Oil) & his special clean roasted coffee.  I don't get the crazy 'Colon Blow Effect', that other high end fresh ground coffee gives me.  I never knew about the mold in coffee production until reading his book.

Butter Coffee does take any glimpse of hunger away for hours. A BRILLIANT IDEA AND PRODUCT!  It makes fasting easy and my brain and mind do feel clearer.  Trying to get enough fat in my diet has been a challenge for me, this coffee really helps for 16/8 intermittent fasting!

Yea, leave it to me to recommend Ayahuasca and VSG surgery.  When you REALLY want and need to change, YOU TRY EVERYTHING.  I am crazy and bold enough to go try it all.  I am all about long term permanent change and healing.  My tiny tummy is happy, the High Fat Low Carb lifestyle feels good and and I am getting results.

I lost another pound and am well on my way to losing this belly fat I so proudly earned consuming mostly incredible home brew and outstanding micro-beers.  I do miss beer, but I am happy to give it up so I can live a better quality healthy happy life.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE BULLETPROOF DIET BOOK AND HIS COFFEE!

The scale is moving down again!

Broke the stall! 2 pounds lost this week!
That is 63 pounds total lost so far!

I am trying something that I really think is working for blowing through a weight loss stall. I started tracking my food and that was very telling. I was eating more carbs and calories than I realized.

Even with a tiny tummy I still have to decide what I am going to eat and when.  Trying to figure out why I was in a stall was making me do tons of research.  This week I decided to start the 16/8 intermittent fast protocols and stick with a HFLC eating lifestyle. I think this has made all of the difference in breaking my weight-loss stall and get the fat burning off me and not losing muscle.

My doctors recommendations for VSG Post Op follow right along these lines diet wise as well.  No wheat, no sugar, full fat, and small amounts of full dairy.  Basically no processed foods at all.  Even hot dogs are out, but real made sausage is okay. It's basically meat, salads and lots of eggs.  I keep my net carbs between 20 - 30 per day.  It has been around 1100 calories per day average.

I have been weighing my food to get the truth on what I am actually eating, that has been helpful too.  I like the reassurance and want the data on what is working and not.  I don't feel hungry or deprived at all and the scale has started to move down again.  I have also noticed it's my belly fat that is melting away faster than anyplace else right now.

 37 Week Post Op VSG
218 lbs. ~ 43 inches lost so far!

It's the fasting that is the new thing that I think is making me leaner faster.  So my eating schedule looks like this:

7:30pm - 11:30am 16 hour fast.  (Sleep 7 - 8 hours, Water, coffee only)
11:30am ~ Meal 1: Drink 18 oz. water then eat LCHF ( around 350 calories each)
3:30pm ~ Meal 2: Drink 18 oz. water then eat LCHF ( around 350 calories each)
6:30pm ~ Meal 3:  Drink 18 oz. water then eat LCHF ( around 350 calories each)

Yea, I am hella serious!
and yea, I just said hella.

I used to drink my coffee with cream in the mornings, but that won't work with fasting, so I just ordered some Bulletproof Coffee and Brain Octane Oil to try out BULLETPROOF COFFEE'S in the mornings. I'll let you know all about it's effects after I try it out. : )

I may allow myself one day a week to just eat whatever I want, like on a Saturday for instance.  What I have been finding is, when I don't eat sugar or flour, I feel much better.  I have no cravings and I am more alert and my brain and thinking feel clearer.  I also notice when I eat sugar or flour, I crash the next day.  I feel like I have a hangover and like total crap.  Friday nights are my party nights usually.  I plan for cocktails.  So lately it's been 5 days a week Mon. - Fri. my high fat, low carb lifestyle with 16/8 intermittent fasting.

Friday night, vodka, white wine or Champagne and Saturday partake of at least one high carb shumthin, shumthin, and Sunday recover.  It sort of resembles a Carb Cycling principle and I still get too party, try out to the newest sexiest restaurants in San Francisco on the weekends and not feel like I am missing out on my social life.  Remember, I have a tiny ass tummy, I can't eat much anyways.  I just don't want to freak myself out with a strict diet of any kind and suffer the psychological cycle of feeling deprived and obsess over food.  I will monitor how this goes.  I may have to stay stricter and go full on Ketosis to get to my goal weight faster and do that weekend plan as part of maintenance down the road.  We will see.

I am in the honeymoon phase of this VSG surgery still.  They say you lose most all of your weight the first two  years after surgery.  I am in month 9, and am half way to my goal.  Not having the hunger hormone in my body - Ghrelin being produced, was the very best part of the VSG surgery.  I do have hunger, but it is nothing like it was before surgery.

I have 73 more pounds to lose to make my goal weight of 145 lbs.  I was a size 28 when I started, I wear a size 18 today and it's becoming loose on me.  I unpacked some boxes from storage recently and found my favorite "Little black dress", it's a size 8.  I have it hanging on my wall as my new goal of body measurement.  It's motivation for sure.

I start my new job Feb 29th and with it will come new and better healthier daily routines from the start.  I will get to my goal, get leaner and stronger, one pound and day at a time.  Thanks for following along.

If you are considering VSG weight-loss surgery, LCHF or trying intermittent fasting, - I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM!

I think I made "My Fitness Pal" public, so if you want to join along on that too , join, IT'S FREE!

Still stuck at 220 lbs.

Hi Everyone,

So basically for two months now I have been in a weight loss stall again. From everything I have read, this is pretty normal.  In the last 2 months I have been under some stress with the huge changes in my life.

January 1, 2016: I relocated after 5 years to a new larger nicer home closer to work.

February, 22, 2016: I was offered a really great direct hire position in a hot Biotech start-up.  I start on Leap Year Feb 29th!

March 2016 starts me on a solid path and better grasp on shaping myself in my own future.

I think it's time to really start tracking my calories, carbs and proteins closer.  I don't eat much, but I need to make sure I'm not going higher in calories than I should be, or not eating enough calories either so my body thinks I'm starving and holds onto the weight.  I walk 3 to 4 times per week, but I think I need to start upping my exercise too. I need to  figure out how to get the scale moving down again. I bought a food scale to weigh my food.  I am tracking everything to make sure I know how and what I am consuming.

I am now using My Fitness Pal to track my food intake and exercise to keep better track of what I am doing.  I will get to 219 lbs. soon, I swear to fucking God I will.

The day you read I have made it to 199 lb. will be the
next happy dance you will see me do big time!

I will be singing  Happy, Happy, Joy Joy"

OMG I GOT A GREAT NEW JOB!

Bad news is the scale has not moved.  I'm still stuck at 220lbs. but I did get a new job!  I just accepted an offer to work at a very exciting biotech start-up in San Francisco.

The stars are aligned and I am making changes for the better.  I heard I will be able to have a UCSF Club membership, so I will use their gym, indoor pool and take classes.

IT'S A NEW YEAR IN EVERY WAY!
